After Teresa Hunt lost both her boys in a car accident, she discovered a few music notes written down by Dawson on a little scrap of yellow paper. She showed it to Lori and I one evening when she was over for dinner and conversation. Although Dawson had only taken piano lessons for a little while, I could read what he wrote and so played and recorded his 35 second song. My wife Lori and I have had many conversations and great dinners with Teresa in the years since Dawson and Devin went to be with the Lord. And yes, during those times tears have mingled with the laughter. About a year ago, I tried to capture Teresa's thoughts in this song, and almost as if planned, Dawson's Song is the perfect prelude.
